ISSF is comprised of the following organizational bodies.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the highest authority within the ISSF organization. Responsible for general oversight of fiduciary practice and strategic direction. The Board establishes its own organizational and governing principles. In addition to general oversight, the Board is responsible for advising with fund raising and outreach activities.
President & CEO
The President & CEO is the senior management officer of the ISSF organization. The President & CEO serves as the leader of the Executive Committee. He/She works with and is accountable to the Board of Directors. He/She leads the foundation in defining its vision; is the main spokesperson for the foundation; and bears the chief responsibility in ensuring the foundation meets its short term operational and long term strategic goals.
Charged with managing the day-to-day activities of ISSF, the Executive Committee is composed of the President/CEO, Executive Director, functional Vice Presidents, Treasurer, and Secretary. The Executive Committee transparently manages ISSF resources and determine immediate activities and direction within the overall ISSF strategy.
Circle of Experts
The Circle of Experts is composed of individuals with a key area of space safety expertise who have agreed to make themselves available in an advisory capacity on an ad hoc basis, by request of the President. Circle of Experts members may also be asked to contribute to development of ISSF’s official technical positions, drafting of white papers, and publishing position statements.
