The International Space Safety Foundation (ISSF) is pleased to welcome Christopher Stone to the newly created Executive Committee position of Vice President of Policy & Strategy. In this role, Mr. Stone will assess the policy and regulatory landscape in the light of space safety issues, propose positions for ISSF to support, and advise ISSF on internal strategy to achieve such objectives.
Mr. Stone is well suited to this role. He currently serves as a Space Policy Analyst with the Department of Defense Executive Agent for Space Staff, Pentagon. In his military capacity he is a space operations officer and Mission Director with the 222nd Command and Control Squadron supporting the National Reconnaissance Operations Center.
He has served as a space strategist supporting the Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC), Pacific Air Forces as well as serving as Chief of Staff for the Space and Cyberspace Division at Headquarters Air Force-Office of International Affairs, and as the Space Strategy Planner with the 157th Air Operations Group (PACAF), Missouri Air National Guard supporting the 613th Air and Space Operations Center Strategy Division.
Prior to joining the Air Force in 2004, Mr. Stone served on the staffs of two United States Senators, in the National Security Space Office, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and National Guard Bureau Secretariat of the Joint Staff and Joint Actions Control Office.
ISSF is honored to admit this distinguished member to the Executive Committee and anticipates a more robust policy platform to result from his incorporation.
